The Role
We’re seeking an exceptional Financial Reporting & Grants Compliance Manager to oversee key aspects of financial reporting and consolidations while supporting compliance efforts with federal grant regulations. In this role, financial reporting will take center stage as we aim to maintain accuracy, accountability, and timely submissions across internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of financial reporting experience, preferably with roots in public accounting, and a keen ability to juggle compliance efforts seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

Financial Reporting:

  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, including internal and external filings, and other mandatory reports, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage monthly financial consolidations and ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP practices.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of significant and complex transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment and disclosure.
  • Act as the product owner for ERP Consolidations and support system improvements to streamline reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely review and filing of financial statements while maintaining accurate and thorough documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis initiatives to advance business objectives.
  • Perform technical accounting research and write memos.

Compliance & Federal Grant Management:

  • Support the implementation of compliance frameworks related to federal grants, ensuring adherence to procurement, cost accounting, and oversight standards.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external entities, such as DOE Project Officers, to address grant-specific reporting requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation to support audit readiness and grant utilization reporting.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams to promote a culture of compliance seamlessly integrated into broader project goals.

Strategic Contributions:

  • Partner across multi-functional teams, including legal, supply chain, and operations, to ensure reporting and compliance align with broader business objectives.
  • Stay ahead of emerging accounting standards, SEC updates, and compliance frameworks to evolve processes and documentation continuously.
  • Optimize processes to balance financial reporting accuracy while remaining compliant with federal grant obligations.


Behaviors and Qualifications which are essential to success of this team

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Affairs, Business Management, or related fields. CPA certification highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of financial reporting experience, with SEC reporting or public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain comprehensive, well-documented compliance processes and records.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate financial and performance data, paired with a track record of producing clear, accurate, and timely reports.
  • Proven ability to assess compliance risks, implement mitigation strategies, and lead cross-functional teams in navigating complex grant requirements.
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on energy innovation and sustainability.
